Liam Fontaine is a defender of Bristol City. He was born on 7 January 1986 in Beckenham, London, England.
In 2004, Liam penned his first professional contract with Fulham and started to make occasional appearances for the club, but was sent on loan to Yeovil Town, where he took part in 15 fixtures during his spell and gained the initial playing practice. At the beginning of 2005, the footballer sealed a temporary deal with Kilmarnock and featured in three games for the team during six months.
In the summer the same year, Fontaine returned to Yeovil Town and made ten appearances for ‘The Glovers’ during his second loan spell. At the beginning of 2006, the defender was loaned out to Bristol City, where he took part in 15 fixtures during the second half of the season.
After his temporary contract expired, Liam put pen to paper of a permanent deal with ‘The Robins’ and became the pivot, who fired five goals in 203 games for the team as of February 2013. Besides, the footballer managed to earn the right to wear a captain’s armband, which makes him feel greater responsibility and act in an appropriate way.
In the season 2013/2014 Fontaine played on loan at Yeovil Town.
From 2001 till 2005, the footballer was capped ten times for the England national U-16, U-17 and U-20 squads.
