Liu Cheng is a Chinese defender currently playing for the Chinese Super League side Guangzhou R&F. he was born on 23 October 1983 in Changsha, Hunan, China.
Liu started out his youth career at Shanghai Oriental Pearl Youth in 1995 and then moved to Sichuan Quanxing youth system in 1998. In 2000, he joined the first team of the club and gradually cemented his place in the starting eleven. The defender established himself as a high-key player of the team despite his young age and made a total of 48 strong appearances for five seasons at the club. In the 2005 season, Liu Cheng played for Hunan Billows and in 2006 he enjoyed a meteoric rise having received an offer from the reigning Chinese Super League champions Dalian Shide. In the 2007 season, Liu moved to the second-tier club Chengdu Blades. The next season his new club got a promotion to the top flight and Liu Cheng returned to the Super League. In 2010, he joined Changsha Ginde, later renamed in Guangzhou R&F where Liu Cheng plays till the date.
