Lucas Daniel Wilchez was born in 1983 in La Plata, Argentina.
He spent his youth playing career at Defensores de Cambaceres and Estudiantes de La Plata. With the latter one he went on his senior career though being loaned to San Martín for the 2004/05 season and after that to Tigre. In summer 2007, he returned to Estudiantes and debuted in a 3-0 win against Banfield.
The 2009/10 season Wilchez spent with Talleres de Córdoba, though they suffered relegation to the Primera B Metropolitana. After that the Argentinean footballer moved to the Greek club Asteras Tripolis. There he spent a season and made his debut in a 0–0 draw against Larissa.
In 2010, Wilchez joined for the Chilean Primera División side Colo-Colo but failed to help the team to win the title, losing it to Universidad Católica, and in July 2012 it was announced that he would play for the Spanish outfit Real Zaragoza on a season-long loan. At the end of the spell the Argentine moved to Atletico Tigre.
