Lucian Goian is a Romanian defender, born on 10 February 1983 in Suceava, Romania.
Lucian gave a start to his professional career, when joined his hometown club FC Foresta Suceava in 2001. The youngster spent there a year and a half during which he managed to feature in 21 games and scored one goal. In 2003 he joined another Romanian club FC Oneşti where he added another 21 appearances to his career stats and later once again changed the club in 2004, signing a deal with FC Ceahlăul.
However, the spell was not too long, as the Romanian heavyweights FC Dinamo Bucharest bought the player the same year after just 14 games and 3 goals in a shirt of the Carpathian Bears (nickname of FC Ceahlăul). There he failed to break through to the first-team with the Bucharest club, being considered just as a backup for the main squad and returned to FC Ceahlăul in 2006, this time on a loan deal. When the loan spell came to an end, the chiefs of the club expressed their wish to sign the footballer on a permanent basis and the transfer was completed in a short time.
However, soon he came back to FC Dinamo Bucharest, as the club’s head coach was eager to strengthen their backline and preferred the well-known player to other candidates. There he stayed until 2010 coming on the pitch on 53 occasions and scoring a goal.
Later he had a season spell with FC Astra Ploieşti, before moving to FC Tianjin Teda in 2012.
Since 2013 the player has featured for Beijing Baxy.
