Lucimar Ferreira da Silva is a Brazilian footballer who currently plays for Juventus as a central defender.
He spent his youth playing career in Planaltina EC and Guará until 1997, when he joined Sport Club Internacional, his first professional team.
In January 2001 Lúcio moved to a German club Leverkusen. During his spell with this Bundesliga outfit he showed himself to good advantage and claimed attention of several European clubs.
In 2004, Lúcio signed a six-year contract with Bayern Munich, where he became one of the key-players. The footballer helped the team to the quarter-finals of the 2006/07 Champions League, where they suffered a defeat to eventual champions Milan.
Lúcio switched to Serie A side Internazionale on a three-year deal in July 2009. He helped Inter to win UEFA Champions League in 2010. In July 2012 Lúcio penned a two-year contract with Juventus, dissolving his deal with Inter two years before the term ended. Nevertheless he didn’t stay there long and repatriated to Brazil in 2013 joining Sao Paulo.
A Brazilian footballer has been a part of the national team since 2000, when he represented Brazil at the 2000 Olympic Games. In 2006 he helped his team to the FIFA World Cup quarter-final and in August he was appointed the captain of the national squad. Lúcio scored the winning goal bringing Brazil the 2009 Confederations Cup.
