A footballer Luis Gustavo Ledes Evangelista dos Santos acts as a midfielder for Rio Ave. He was born on 28 September 1992 in Braga, Portugal.
The academy of Barcelona was the place, where Luis started his junior career. He was scouted by the club at age 14, which can be considered late in comparison to other footballers. Gustavo was selected for the U-15 team. He spent five years gaining first playing experience and improving his game. During that time, the young midfielder went through almost all the “ranks” in the Barcelona youth system, until he graduated from the academy in 2011.
In 2011, Ledes earned a promotion to a senior level. He was assigned for the reserve team of Barcelona. On 29 October 2011, Luis debuted for the senior side in a match with Gimnàstic de Tarragona. His first goal for the B team was belted on 3 June 2012 in a match against Xerez CD.
In 2013 Gustavo switched for a Portuguese side Rio Ave.
On international level, Gustavo earned 24 calls in four years for the Portugal national youth team at U-17, U-18 and U-19 level. In 2012, the player was invited to represent the U-20 team.
