Lukas Rupp was born on 8 January 1991 in Heidelberg, Germany.
Lukas is the son of a Bundesliga handball player. At the start of his career he played for Karlsruher SC youth team. In 2009 Rupp got a promotion to the reserve team, where he made a total of 23 appearances in Regionalliga and amassed seven goals. In the season 2009/10 Lukas became an indispensable part of Karlsruher SCII and soon joined the first squad.
His professional debut fell on 21 March 2010 in a 2nd Bundesliga match against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen. Rupp played an integral role at Karlsruher SC and netted 3 goals in 26 games for the first squad.
In the second half of 2011 Lukas, together with Matthias Zimmermann, joined the Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach. Lukas didn’t play a single match for the club, since he was loaned to SC Paderborn 07. There the player took part in 15 games and amassed 2 goals. In 2012 he made a comeback with Borussia M’gladbach.
Lukas hasn’t been capped at international level yet.
