Lukasz Piszczek is a Borussia Dortmund and Polish national player. Łukasz is capable of playing in any of the right wing positions, but his most advantageous one is right back. The footballer was born in Czechowice-Dziedzice, Poland.
In 2001 Lukasz became part of Gwarek Zabrze which became the winner of the Polish youth championship in 2003. In 2004 the footballer drew the attention of Hertha BSC and soon was signed by the club. Straight after the transfer the talented defender was loaned to Zagłębie Lubin, with which he won the Ekstraklasa in the 2006/07 season.
In autumn 2007 Lukasz made a comeback with Hertha. On 27 April 2008 the Pole scored his debut Bundesliga goal against Hannover 96.
A hip injury kept Piszczek out of business for the first half of the 2008/09 season. Subsequently, he had to undergo surgery. The Polish defender resumed training in February 2009, but soon after that, he suffered a knee injury. A chain of problems came to an end in April of the same year and Piszczek returned to the club.
Being a free agent, on 19 May 2010 the player signed a three-year contract with Borussia Dortmund. Lukasz was quite fast made first choice right back of the Black Yellows.
Lukasz’s debut match in the Poland national shirt was on 3 February 2007. On that day the defender took part in a friendly match against Estonia.
On 6 June 2008 Piszczek was included to the Polish national team for Euro 2008 as a replacement for Jakub Błaszczykowski who had been previously injured. Lukasz took part in 1 match against Germany, but was injured and wasn’t able to help his team in the championship.
