Lukman Haruna is a Nigerian midfielder who plays for Dynamo Kyiv. He was born on 4 December 1990 in Jos, Nigeria.
As a youth, Haruna was trained at Global Crystal Academy. He later played with the juniors of AS Monaco, before signing a professional contract with the French side on 25 May 2009. On 1 March 2009, Lukman celebrated his first-team debut for AS Monaco. During his two-year spell at the club Haruna made 44 league appearances and netted 3 goals.
Following Monaco’s drop to Ligue 2 after the 2010/2011 season, Haruna was transferred to Dynamo Kyiv for a €2 million fee, sealing a 5-year contract with the Ukrainian club on 26 June 2011. Lukman is also recognized for his brilliant dribbling, clever movement and accurate passes.
Lukman Haruna plays for Nigeria since the age of 17. Together with the national squad he won the 2007 U-17 World Cup. On 6 December 2008 he was selected for the 2009 African Youth Championship. Lukman was invited to the senior national squad for the 2010 World Cup. Haruna managed his debut goal for the national team in a friendly game against Colombia on 30 May 2010.
