A Brazilian footballer Macedo Novaes plays as a goalkeeper for Valenciennes.
Macedo’s career started at Corinthians SC, where he played till the age of 18. Then he joined Bahia FC and took part in São Paulo Junior Championship. In 2005 Macedo started playing for Democrata-GV. He stayed there for a year and a half before he moved to Europe.
The first European country Macedo went to was Cyprus, where he took a few tests with no positive results. In September 2005 he agreed to play for AS Moulins and participated in 21 matches in 2005/2006. But the talented footballer could not save his team, and AS Moulins finished the season on the 19th place. Macedo gave up football temporarily to take care of his sick mother.
He returned to football in 2007, but he was hardly ever used at AS Moulins, where he stayed for 6 months. Macedo Novaes tried to pass a trial at Metz FC, which played in Ligue 2.
In 2007/2008 he played for Arles-Avignon and contributed to the club development with his brilliant playing.
Thanks to his talent and professional skills, Macedo Novaes was invited to Corsican SC Bastia by Christian Villanova. He played for the club in 2008/2009 and saved the team a few times due to his talent.
After a hard season of 2009/2010, Macedo managed to win the France Championnat National and the club was promoted to Ligue 2. In 2010/2011 the club won the champion’s title in Ligue 2 and was promoted to Ligue 1, while Macedo Novaes was named the best goalkeeper in Ligue 2.
In the summer 2013 the goalkeeper was offered a contract with Valenciennes.
