Maciej Rybus was born on 19 August 1989 in the Polish city of Łowicz. He currently plays as a midfielder for FC Terek Grozny.
Maciej was groomed at the youth teams of Pelikan Łowicz and MSP Szamotuły from 2004 to 2007. In the autumn of 2007, Maciej became a player of Legia Warszawa, making his début in one of the Polish Cup matches. Rybus netted his first goal for Legia against Górnik Zabrze in December 2007. Thanks to his strong performances the club finished as a runner-up and became the Polish Cup winner in the 2007/08 season, and won the Polish Super Cup trophy in the 2008/09 season.
In the winter of 2012, the footballer moved to FC Terek Grozny signing a contract for three and a half years.
In the 2008/09 season, Maciej Rybus represented the Poland U21 team, and since 2009, he is capped to the senior national side having made his debut in a match against Romania in November 2009. Rybus scored his maiden international goal in a friendly against Canada on 18 November 2009 which brought 1-0 win to his side.
