Mahir Shukurov. Biography

Mahir Shukurov is an Azerbaijani defender born on 12 December 1982 in Sumgayit, Azerbaijan.

Mahir’s professional career really picked up steam when he joined Karvan Yevlax in 2004. Since 2006, Shukurov changed a number of Azerbaijani clubs having spells at Neftchi Baku, Inter Baku, Khazar Lankaran, Olimpik Baku and Gabala. In the 2010/11 season, Shukurov played for the Russian Premier League side Anzhi Makhachkala amassing 20 matches during this period. In 2012, he moved back to the top-flight Azerbaijani club Neftchi and plays there to date.

Mahir Shukurov is a regular international for Azerbaijan since 2004. He made a total of 62 appearances for his national side scoring three goals.
