Maicon Pereira Roque is a defender of Porto. He was born on 14 September 1988 in Barretos, São Paulo, Brazil.
In 2007 Maicon started off his professional career signing a contract with Cruzeiro. During his one-year spell with this club the Brazilian defender took part in several matches but he wasn’t able to secure a place in the first team because the head coach had more experienced players at his disposal. That’s why when in January 2008 Maicon had an opportunity to leave Cruzeiro he did it without hesitation signing for Cabofriense. However the situation remained the same because the footballer got into the starting line-up only several times for half a year.
In the summer 2008 Maicon finally penned a contract with Nacional where he spent the 2008/2009 season. For a year the defender made 28 appearances in the starting eleven. In the summer 2009 the Brazilian footballer caught the eye of the oversea football team Porto. The clubs reached an agreement quickly and when the summer transfer window was about to close Maicon penned a contract with Porto. Nowadays the defender plays for this Portuguese side, sometimes coming on the pitch.
