Maksim Belyayev was born on September 30, 1991 in Ozyory, Soviet Union. Currently plays a defender for FC Rostov on loan from FC Lokomotiv Moscow.
At the age of 16 Maksim graduated from the Lokomotiv Moscow football academy and alongside with other talented young footballers joined the youth squad of the club. On July 15, 2009 the defender made his debut for the first side in the Russian Cup match against “SKA-Energia” and on July 19, he featured in his first Premier League match. In 2011, the young player was loaned to FC Dynamo Bryansk to get more game practice. There the spent half a season and altogether made 10 appearances.
In summer 2011, Maksim Belyaev signed a loan contract with FC Torpedo Vladimir. The management of this club provided the player with enough game practice and he featured in 14 matches. Such an attitude couldn’t but take positive effect on Maksim’s performance, and during the 23rd round of the Football Championship of the National League he made a hat-trick, thereby scoring his first senior goal.
Having appeared 21 times for Torpedo Maksim Belyaev returned to Lokomotiv whereat joined the first team’s training camp in Portugal. In 2012 he made his European debut in the UEFA Europe League match against Athletic Bilbao. At the end of the 2011/2012 season he was already made the first-choice defender of the team and on the 43rd matchday of the season netted his first goal for Lokomotiv. In 2013 Maksim was sent on loan to FC Rostov.
In 2012 he was capped for the Russia U-21 national squad and took part in the match with the Albania U-21 squad. The game ended in a goalless draw.
