Malik Deniz Fathi is a footballer from Germany of German and Turkish origin. Currently a defeder plays for 1860 München. He was born in 1983 in West Berlin, West Germany, and spent his youth playing career with Hertha Zehlendorf, Tennis Borussia Berlin and Hertha BSC. With the latest Fathi went on with senior playing career since 2003.
In March 2008, he moved to Russia where he played for Spartak Moscow until 2011. He made his debut for Spartak on 7 March in the Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund. For the 2010/11 season he was sent to 1. FSV Mainz 05, where he played on loan and then completed a permanent move, signing a three-year deal. In 2012, he was loaned to Kayserispor.
In 2013 a new contract with Bundesliga 2 side 1860 München was finalized.
Malik Fathi represented the Germany U20 team at 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship and U21 team Euro U-21 championship in 2006. He made his debut appearance for the senior team in August 2006. That was a friendly game against Sweden.
