Mamady Sidibé is a forward of CSKA Sofia. He was born on 18 December 1979 in Kremis, Mali.
In 1995 Sidibé joined the academy of Bagneux and started to perform for one of youth teams of the club. The footballer spent two years there, learning football in all its minutest details and gaining playing experience with junior squads. In 1997 Mamady moved to the academy of Massy Palaiseau, where he stayed during one year before continuing his youth career in Red Star 93. After two years in the youth system, the young footballer drew the attention of French side CA Paris-Charenton, which he joined in 2000. It took Sidibé one year to reach the professional level of performance.
In 2001 Mamady penned a contract with Swansea City, where he made 31 appearances and netted seven goals during one year, showing confident performance, which satisfied both the player himself and the coaching staff. However, Sidibe drew the attention of other clubs and tied up his future with other English team.
In 2002 Mamady sealed a deal with Gillingham, where he managed to feature in 106 matches and amass ten goals during three years. In the summer 2005, the footballer left for Stoke City, where he was offered a place in the main team and a lucrative contract. Besides, the club performed in the top division, which was very important for the player. From 2005 till 2013, Sidibe took part in 186 games and fired 26 goals for ‘The Potters’. After brief loan spells with Sheffield Wednesday and Tranmere Rovers the Malian striker moved to CSKA Sofia.
From 2002 till 2008, Mamady was capped 14 times for the Mali national team.
