A Portuguese footballer Manuel José Azevedo Vieira plays as a right midfielder for Paços de Ferreira. He was born on 4 February 1981 in Vila Nova de Gaia.
In 1991, Manuel got to the academy of Porto, where he studied football in its minutest details during a long time. In 2000, the player got promotion to the senior level.
In the summer 2000, Vieira became the main team’s official member. He spent his two seasons for the reserved team, making 37 appearances and scoring 12 goals. In the summer 2002, the footballer was sent on loan to União Lamas, where he made 12 appearances and netted four goals. In January 2003, Manuel was loaned out by Académica, where he stayed until he was loaned to Vitória Guimarães. He scored one goal in 3 matches for the temporary club.
In the summer 2004, Vieira served loans at Vitória Setúbal, where he made a fabulous season, featuring in 44 club’s fixtures and scoring 7 goals.
In the summer 2005, the footballer opted to join Boavista, signing a contract and becoming the club’s player on a permanent basis. Over the course of a season, Manuel made 33 appearances and amassed 3 goals. In 2006, the midfielder moved to Rumania, where he performed for CFR Cluj. He scored 1 goal in 56 matches for the Romanian side. In 2009, Vieira came back to Portugal, where he was scouted by Paços de Ferreira. The midfielder continues to make successful appearances for the squad.
In 2002, Manuel was called up 5 times for the Portugal U-21 team.
