Máo Jiànqīng is a Chinese footballer who currently represents Beijing Guoan. Equally comfortable at left-wing and in attack, he made a name for himself as a striker.
Born in Shanghai, China, Máo launched his youth career with boyhood club Shanghai Cable 02 in the year of 2000. In 2002 the youngster joined the youth system of Shanghai Shenhua. His spectacular form earned him a full-time contract. In 2004 he clinched professional forms with the club. He played in a few league games but didn’t impress enough, which cost him a regular place in the starting eleven. After warming the bench for some time, the attacker produced some stand-out displays and cemented his place in the main team. In 2006 Máo Jiànqīng helped his team finish runners-up. During his stay with Shanghai Shenhua he made a total of 74 appearances and netted 7 goals.
In 2009 the player was loaned out to Shenzhen Asia Travel. A year later Máo Jiànqīng signed for Shaanxi Chanba. Soon he embarked on a loan spell at Hangzhou Greentown where he made 11 starts and found the target 2 times. In 2012 Beijing Guoan confirmed the signing of Máo Jiànqīng.
Since 2006 the footballer has been representing the China national team.
