Marc Planus is a French footballer who operates as a defender at Bordeaux.
Initially Planus was playing for Bordeaux. His first game in Ligue 1 took place on 9 November 2002 during the match Bordeaux-Rennes. In the 2002/03 season he made his debut as a core player of Bordeaux playing 17 games over the season.
It was the first of 200 matches where he played for his team. After five seasons he started getting prizes for his play. In the 2008/09 season Planus won the title in Bordeaux team; in the 2006/07 and 2008/09 seasons he won the Coup de la Ligue and in the 2009/10 the Trophee des Champions. He joined the French national youth team where he became the best player in his position. He also won the Coup de la Ligue in 2007 when he was voted the best final’s player.
Planus was called up to the French national team to feature in 2010 FIFA World Cup when France was suspended in the group stage of the tournament. He made his debut in the national team in 2010. However after France was eliminated from the first round Laurent Blanc has never called the footballer up to the national team.
