Marc Tierney is a back of Bolton Wanderers. He was born on 23 August 1985 in Prestwich, England.
Marc’s professional career took off in 2002, when he penned a contract with Oldham Athletic. The footballer spent two years there before completing a temporary move. He managed to make several appearances for the team, but those appearances were rather rare, which was a bit disappointing for the player as he wanted something more than that. In 2004 Tierney was sent on loan to Carlisle United, where he took part in ten games. After the end of his loan spell, Marc stayed in his parent Oldham Athletic for two years before being bought by one of English side clubs.
In the summer 2007, Shrewsbury Town penned a contract with the footballer on permanent basis. After Tierney spent one season in the new club, he went on loan to Colchester United and took part in six matches for it. Despite that small number of appearances, the head coach of the temporary team appraised his performance and decided to secure Marc’s services on permanent basis. From 2009 till 2011, the footballer played for Colchester United and became the pivot of the left flank of defense, having featured in 74 games and found the net one time.
In the summer 2011, English side Norwich City lodged a bid for Tierney that was accepted. The footballer was let on the pitch at the left back position and spent the whole season, being a regular.
Once his contract with the Premier League side expired, Tierney joined Bolton Wanderers.
