Marc David Wilson is a midfielder of Stoke City, who is also capable of operating in defense. He was born on 17 August 1987 in Aghagallon, Northern Ireland.
In 2000 Wilson moved to the academy of Manchester United and started to perform for one of youth teams of the club. It took the footballer four years to reach the level, when he could be offered to join the main team. That happened in 2004, but Marc moved to the first squad of other English club.
Portsmouth penned a professional contract with the midfielder, but he could not count on a place in the starting line-up at the beginning. In 2006 Wilson completed a move to Yeovil Town on a six-month loan deal. Marc made two appearances for the temporary team before going on loan to Bournemouth in January 2007. The footballer later extended his contract with the club and netted three goals in total 26 matches. In the summer 2007, Wilson was sent on loan to Luton Town, where he took part in four games.
In 2010 Stoke City secured Marc’s services, as the club counted on making him a starting squad player, because the midfielder matched all criteria. It did not take long for Wilson to prove the high level of his performance to the head coach of ‘The Potters’, as he managed to do that during his début season. The footballer featured in 63 games and found the net one time during two years, playing as a midfielder.
From 2004 till 2007, Marc David Wilson was included in the roster of the Republic of Ireland national U-18, U-19 and U-21 teams and made one appearance in the latter. From 2011 the footballer was capped two times for the full national squad.
