Marcel Seip is a defender of Central Coast Mariners. He was born on 5 April 1982 in Winschoten, Netherlands.
Marcel’s career took off in Veendam in 1999. The footballer’s skill was improving year after year, because he made only six appearances during the first season with the club, but was given an opportunity to take part in 18 games during his second season. Due to his memorable performance, Seip drew the attention of Heerenveen scouts and penned a contract with the new team in 2001. The defender propelled his club to the UEFA Intertoto Cup finals, but failed to lift the trophy after a loss to Spanish side Villarreal.
In the 2003/2004 season, Marcel made 31 appearances and netted one goal for the club, which was a decent contribution to their UEFA Cup qualification. The following season was not very successful both for the player and the team, but they repeated the achievement and managed to get to the European scene once again. However, the management of Heerenveen decided to give Seip less playing time, which resulted in his leaving the squad in 2006. The same year, the footballer sealed a five-year deal with English side Plymouth Argyle. Marcel was several times sent on loan during his spell with the new club, and he was lucky to gain a lot of experience from performing for Blackpool, Sheffield and Charlton. Despite that, the defender featured in 134 games and found the net six times for his parent Plymouth.
In 2011, Bradford secured Seip’s services and saw him fire one goal in 23 fixtures.
In 2012, the footballer transferred to VVV-Venlo and enjoyed a fruitful season.
In 2013 Seip moved to Australia and joined Central Coast Mariners.
