An Argentine footballer Marcelo Cañete is an attacking midfielder for São Paulo. He was born on 16 April 1990 in Buenos Aires.
In 2010, Marcelo debuted with the main squad of Boca Juniors in a match against Palmeiras. In August 2010, the footballer took part in The Primera División. He came on the field in the second half of the match with Godoy Cruz.
It’s U. Católica who agreed a temporary deal with the midfielder in 2011. The club opted to hire him for the 2011 Copa Libertadores. After Marcelo had featured in 23 matches for the Chilean team he was scouted by São Paulo. His start to life at the new club wasn’t the best – the midfielder was kept away from the field by numerous traumas managing to take part in few games during 2011. After he’d shaken off the injuries he managed to continue training for the Brazilian side.
In 2013 he played on loan at Portuguesa.
