Marcelo Toscano is a striker of Figueirense. He was born on 12 May 1985 in Areado, Brazil.
In 2006 Toscano signed his first professional contract with Paulista. He spent half a year with this Brazilian club where he made only several appearances failing to adjust to the new team. In the summer 2006 Toscano decided to continue his development instead of wasting time and penned a contract with the Israeli club Maccabi. During one season Marcelo was one of the key strikers of the team where he delivered solid performance. It attracted the attention of Paulista which expressed the desire to return its former player.
In 2007 Toscano signed another agreement with Paulista where he moved for one season. During this period he got more chances to play in the starting XI, and his solid performance prompted interest from different Brazilian clubs. In 2008 União São João offered Paulista to buy Marcelo Toscano. In the summer 2008 the parties agreed upon the terms of the contract, and Toscano signed for União São João. For a season the footballer featured for this Brazilian club where he appeared in the starting line-up sometimes staying on the bench.
In 2009 the striker joined Paraná where he played until the summer 2010. The 2009/2010 season was fabulous for Toscano because he managed to kick 15 goals in 36 matches which drew the attention of football clubs not only from Brazil but also from Europe. In the summer 2010 Vitória Guimarães reached an agreement with Paraná upon Toscano’s transfer and sealed a long-term deal with the footballer. Marcelo featured for the club until 2013 when he was transfered to Figueirense.
