Márcio Abreu is a winger, born on 25 April 1980 in Funchal, Portugal.
He began his career at Portuguese side Marítimo, playing alternately for the main and the reserve squads. During the 5-year stay at the club (1999-2004), Márcio featured in 115 matches, mostly a substitute.
In 2004, the Portuguese midfielder moved to a little-known club A.D. Camacha, where by 2007 he appeared in 84 matches and scored 10 goals. Three years later Márcio moved to Bulgaria, where he successfully performed for Chernomorets Burgas. That’s where he was scouted by FC Krasnodar agents. The Portuguese debuted for the new club on 6 February 2011 in a match against Tavriya and netted his first goal for the team in a 3-1 win over FC Rostov in June 2011. After three years with the club Abreu was released in the summer 2014.
