A Brazilian footballer Márcio Luiz Silva Lopes Santos Souza plays as a goalkeeper for Atlético Goianiense. He was born on 24 January 1981 in Aracaju.
Márcio came from the youth system of Bahia. He entered the club’s academy in 1998 and started studying football in its minutest details. In 2002, the footballer was considered to be ready to start playing at the senior level. He entered the club’s main squad and started to gain performing experience at professional level. He won the 2002 Bahia State League and the 2002 Northeast Cup under the flag of Bahia.
In 2006, Luiz was hired by Fortaleza, where he made 2 appearances. In 2007, the goalkeeper opted to join Atlético Goianiense of the Série A. His debut goal for the new team was scored in 2008. Whilst playing for the club Márcio gained the title in the Goiás State League two times (in 2007 and 2010) and in 2008 he won the Brazilian Série C.
The goalkeeper is constantly getting various offers from all over the world but he prefers to stay at Atlético Goianiense, where he’s already featured in more than 120 matches.
