Marco Estrada is a defensive midfielder of the UAE club Al-Wahda. He was born on 28 May 1983 in a Chilean city Viña del Mar.
Marco’s youth career began in Everton, the English Premier League club. Marco studied at the club’s academy and also played for the youth team until he was awarded a contract.
In the summer of 2000 Marco became a professional football player after signing a contract with Everton. The footballer signed a long-term contract according to which he played for his native club until 2006. Over a period of 6 years Marco Estrada was given an opportunity to play in the first team. The head coach utilized Estrada as a reserve player as well as he put Marco in the major squad. For 6 years Marco played in 84 matches scoring 3 goals.
In 2007 Estrada was called up to Universidad de Chile. As at his home club Marco did not receive enough football practice he made a decision to come back to his motherland and continue developing his football skills. Marco Estrada signed a three-year contract with the Chilean club. During three seasons Estrada appeared in 96 matches and scored 14 goals.
In 2010 Marco got an offer to return to Europe by signing a contract with Montpellier from the French Ligue 1. Till 2013 he played for that club and participated in 73 matches and scored 6 goals.
Since 2007 a Chilean midfielder has been periodically called up to the Chile national football team matches.
