Marco Motta is a right back for Juventus. He was born on 14 May, 1986 in Merate, Italy.
Motta’s professional career started at his alma mater Atalanta where he initially played as a youth. He made his Serie A debut in January 2006. Overall, Marco made 19 appearances for the club in the 2004/05 season.
In 2005 Motta left Atalanta for Udinese. For two years Motta periodically appeared in the starting lineup of the club, totaling 36 appearances and 1 goal.
In 2007 Motta was loaned to Torino, where during the 2007/08 season he featured in 24 matches and scored 1 goal. After returning from Torino, Motta was again sent out on loan, this time to A.S. Roma, where for six months Marco played 13 matches. Roma liked Motta’s play and offered to buy him from Udinese. The clubs agreed on the transfer terms and Marco became Roma defender for the 2009/10 season, making a total of 16 appearances.
In 2010 Marco returned to Udinese, but was immediately loaned to Serie A giant Juventus. The defender made 22 appearances for the Old Lady in the 2010/11 season. After the loan spell ended the Turin club signed Marco Motta on a permanent basis. But the debut season at the Italian giants was little success for Motta, as by January 2012 he didn’t play a single match. In 2012 Motta had a short loan spell at Catania and then moved on loan to Bologna.
A loan spell with Genoa followed in 2014.
From 2002 to 2009 Motta earned 55 caps and scored 7 goals for various Italian youth teams. In 2008 the Italian defender featured in 6 matches for Olympic Italy. Since 2010 Marco Motta is called up to represent the Italy national team.
