Marco van Ginkel was born on December 1, 1992 in Amersfoort. He is a box-to-box midfielder.
Aged seven, the boy started training in the academy of Vitesse Arnhem and in 2010 he debuted for the senior team in an away match against Waalwijk. Van Ginkel scored his first goal in a winning match against Ajax during 2010/2011 campaign. After the season 2012/2013 he wsa called the Dutch Talent of the Year and was offered a lucrative deal with an English side Chelsea. In July 2013 Marco completed a move to London in a deal worth £8 million.
The Dutch youngster made his debut in the Premier League against Hull City on the opening day. However, in September he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury and was ruled out for around 6 months.
Since 2012 Marco van Ginkel has been called up to represent the Netherlands national team.
