A footballer Marcos Antônio Senna da Silva performs as a central midfielder for New York Cosmos. Marcos was born on 17 July 1976 in São Paulo. The player is considered to be one of the best midfielders, famous for his long shooting ability and passing range. His cousin, Marcos dos Santos Assunção, is a professional player as well, who’s known for his career at Real Betis.
Marcos used to play for such clubs as Rio Branco, América-SP, Corinthians, Juventude and São Caetano. In 2002, the midfielder signed for Villarreal. The debut season was lined with 30 appearances made, 23 of them he made as a member of the first XI and seven – as a substitute player. The 2012 Championship was lined with four yellow cards received. Apart from this, Senna managed to produce 6 assists.
Marcos also has a tasty of trophy-winning. In 2008, he and the Spain full side became the winner of the UEFA European Football Championship. Senna was also awarded with the title of the Best Spanish Player of the Year (in 2008).
In 2013 Senna quit Villarreal after 11 years with the side and joined an American side New York Cosmos.
On international level, Marcos Senna made 28 appearances for the Spain national side form 2006 to 2010.
