Marcus Olsson is a midfielder of Blackburn Rovers. He was born on 17 May 1988 in Gävle, Sweden.
Marcus started his professional career in Högaborgs BK in 2006. In 2008, he transferred to Halmstads BK and clinched a place in the starting line-up at once. The footballer made 100 appearances and fired 12 goals for the club during three years.
In 2011, English side Blackburn Rovers took an interest in Olsson and sent its scouts to Sweden. The scouts agreed the midfielder’s transfer after a series of tests and welcomed him into the new team in January 2012, when Marcus put pen to paper of a contract and bought a ticket to England. The footballer took part in 22 fixtures and found the net one time for ‘The Riversiders’ as of December 2012.
In 2009, Olsson featured in one game for the Sweden national U-21 squad. From 2012, the midfielder has been capped two times for the full national team.
