Mariano Izco is a midfielder, born on 13 March, 1983 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Groomed at a local club San Telmo, Izco strted out his professional career with the feeder club in 2000. Izco performed brilliantly in the first team, gaining confidence with each match. By 2004 Mariano played 93 matches and scored 4 goals for San Telmo.
In 2004 Argentine Club Almagro acquired Izco. During the 2004/05 season at the club Argentine midfielder made only 6 appearances and couldn’t become a regular in the starting lineup, despite good performance at San Telmo. Mariano decided not to stay for long at the club and agreed to accept an offer from a second division side Tigre, which promised him a place in the starting lineup. During the 2005/06 season Izco played 27 matches and netted 1 goal for the club.
In 2006 Mariano’s career made a qualitative leap. He signed for Serie A side Catania and moved to Italy. From 2006 to 2014 Izco made over 200 appearances for Catania. In the summer 2014 he moved to Chievo Verona.
