A Venezuelan footballer Mario Junior Rondón Fernández plays as a striker for Portuguese side Nacional. He was born on 26 March 1986 in Caracas.
His youth career started in 2000, when Mario entered the academy of the local club Caracas. He had studied football in its minutest details during four years before he was noticed by. In 2004, the young player passed all the preliminary tests and was drafted into Pontassolense youth department, where he spent the 2004/05 season.
In the summer 2005, Mario penned his first professional contract with Pontassolense. He spent 4 years as the club’s starter, making 100 appearances and scoring 21 goals.
In 2009, Rondón moved to Paços Ferreira. He pulled off a fabulous debut season before he was loaned out by Beira-Mar. The striker made 10 appearances and netted 1 goal for the temporary club. In the summer 2011, Mario joined Nacional. He fitted the team perfectly and started to make frequent appearances. The striker continues to perform for the club.
In 2011, Rondón got his first call for the Venezuela national team.
