Mark Gower was born on 5 October 1978 in Edmonton, England. He went in for football in early childhood and joined the academy of Tottenham at the age of 14.
In 1996 Mark penned his first contract with Spurs and performed for the reserve team of the club. In 1999 the footballer went on loan to Motherwell and made nine appearances for the temporary team.
In 2001 Gower continued his career in English side Barnet and gained more experience, which helped him to be let on the pitch with the main team more often. From 2001 till 2003, Mark made 90 appearances for the club and chipped in 15 goals.
In 2003 Mark signed for Southend United and his career finally went forward at a steady gait. The footballer possessed unique skills and could operate both in center and on flanks at the same high level. Gower took part in 203 games and amassed 35 goals during five seasons of performance for the club.
After his contract with Southend United expired, the footballer moved to Welsh side Swansea City in 2008. Mark made more than 100 appearances for ‘The Swans’. In 2013 he was loaned out to a Championship side Charlton Athletic.
