Marko Pantelić is a retired Serbian striker.
He started his youth career at a hometown club Red Star Belgrade in 1992 before moving to the youth system of the Greek side Iraklis Thessaloniki in 1993. In three years, Marko signed his first professional contract with the club.
In 1997, a promising young forward moved to France and joined Paris Saint-Germain reserve squad. Having scored 12 goals in 20 matches for the reserves, Pantelić was promoted to the first team of the top-flight club. However, he met with tough competition there and was short of enough playing time in the team. That became a catalyst for his move on loan to Lausanne where the Serbian player impressed with 14 goals in 21 Swiss league matches helping his temporary club to win the Swiss Cup in 1999.
In between 1999 and 2003, Pantelić had an array of short spells at Celta Vigo, Sturm Graz, Yverdon-Sport, Obilić and Sartid Smederevo. He had a prominent stint with his feeder club Red Star Belgrade amassing 26 goals in 44 matches in the 2004/05 season. Since 2005 to 2009, Pantelić shone for Hertha BSC in the German Bundesliga recording 114 appearances and 45 goals for the period. In the 2009/10 season, Marko founed himself at the Dutch powerhouse Ajax netting 16 goals in 25 Eredivisie matches for the club. In the summer 2010, he got a toehold at Olympiacos. On 11 December 2011, he sparked furor in the Greek Superleague by scoring four goals in a splendid victory over Kerkyra. In the summer 2013 Pantelic retired from professional football.
Marko Pantelić was an international for Serbia since 2003 to 2011. For that period he recorded 10 goals in 43 caps to the national team. He was the part of the squad during the 2010 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2012.
