Marlon King is a Jamaican-English striker. He was born on 26 April 1980 in Dulwich, England.
In 1998, Marlon joined the main squad of Burnet and netted 14 goals in 53 fixtures for the club during two fruitful years. At the end of 1999, English side Gillingham took an interest in the footballer and secured his services on a three-year deal. King used that spell to make 101 appearances and amass 40 goals.
In 2003, the striker transferred to Nottingham Forrest and fired ten goals in 50 matches for the club before being sent on loan to Leeds United, where he featured in nine games. The same year, Marlon sealed a temporary deal with Watford, which decided to offer the footballer a permanent contract after the end of his spell. King made 81 appearances and found the net 36 times for the team from 2005 till 2008.
In 2008, the striker was loaned out to Hull City, where he took part in 20 fixtures and chipped in one goal. At the beginning of 2009, Marlon completed a loan move to Middlesbrough and scored two goals in 13 matches during his spell.
In 2010, the footballer joined Coventry City and kicked 12 goals in 28 games for the club during one season. In the summer 2011, Birmingham City lodged a tempting bid for King and secured his services by the transfer deadline. The striker went on to net 29 times in 67 fixtures for the team and was released in the summer 2013.
Later on the 33-year old was offered a contract with Sheffield United.
From 2004 till 2012, Marlon was capped 21 times and contributed 12 goals for the Jamaica national squad.
