Martin Paterson is a striker of Huddersfield Town. He was born on 10 May 1987 in Tunstall, England.
In 2004, Martin penned his first professional three-year contract with Stoke City and started to train with the main squad of the club in order to gain optimal shape and become more confident. The footballer was given an opportunity to take part in 15 fixtures for ‘The Potters’ during three years, but he managed to find the net only one time for the team during his spell. In 2006, Paterson went on loan to Grimsby Town and fired six goals in 15 games for the club during four months.
In the summer 2007, the striker sealed a deal with Scunthorpe United and clinched a regular place in the starting line-up at once, which helped him to net 13 goals in 40 matches for the team during one season and draw the attention of various English clubs.
In 2008, Martin put pen to paper of a contract with Burnley. From the very beginning, the head coach decided to give the footballer playing practice and saw him amass 29 goals in 130 fixtures until June 2013. At that time Paterson was invited to Huddersfield Town.
In 2007, the striker featured in two matches for the Northern Ireland national U-21 squad. From 2007, Paterson has been capped 14 times and contributed one goal for the full national team.
