Martin Stocklasa is a Liechtenstein defender currently playing for FC St. Gallen in the Swiss top division. He was born on 29 May 1979 in Grabs, Switzerland.
Martin was groomed at USV Eschen/Mauren youth system in between 1989 and 1997. In 1997, he signed his first professional contract with Vaduz but was never to play an official match with their first team for two seasons. In 1999, Stocklasa moved to the Swiss top club FC Zürich where he made a total of 42 appearances for three years, excluding a season-long loan at SC Kriens, and won the Swiss Cup in 2000.
In 2002, the defender returned to FC Vaduz shortly cementing his place in the starting eleven. He helped his side to win the Liechtenstein Cup four years in a row beginning from 2003. Overall, he made a total of 123 appearances and 10 goals for a four-year stint at the club. In between 2006 and 2008, Stocklasa played 60 matches for the German club Dynamo Dresden and since 2008 to 2011 he played for the Austrian top-division club SV Ried, amassing 93 appearances for that period and recording the Austrian Cup victory in the 2010/11 season. In 2011, the player joined St. Gallen.
Martin Stocklasa is a regular international for the Liechtenstein national team since 1996. He is the first and for now the only national player to have netted a hat trick for Liechtenstein.
