Marvin Emnes is a striker, born on 27 May 1988 in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Marvin’s professional career had taken off in local Sparta Rotterdam after the footballer penned his first senior contract with the club. He started to make occasional starts and sub appearances for the first squad and showed steady performance. Emnes took part in 55 fixtures and netted nine goals for Sparta during three years.
In 2008, the striker was offered to move to English side Middlesbrough, which lodged a tempting bid for him. The parties agreed the transfer in a short term and Marvin officially became a part of ‘Smoggies’. In 2010, he went on loan to Swansea City and fired two goals in four matches for the temporary team during his spell. After his return to Middlesbrough, the footballer managed to adapt to the new atmosphere really soon, which helped him to become the pivot of the new club in no time. Emnes made 161 appearances and amassed 31 goals for ‘The Boro’ and was loaned to Swansea City in the winter 2014. Later on Emnes penned a permanent deal with the Welsh club.
By 2009, the striker took his international tally to about 15 caps and two goals for the Netherlands national U-17, U-19 and U-21 squads.
