Masoud Soleimani Shojaei (aka Masoud) is an Iranian footballer who plays for UD Las Palmas on a position of a midfielder.
His career began at Sanat Naft in 2002. Having spent one season for the side, aged 19, he joined Saipa in the Iranian Pro League. There Masoud played 3 seasons with 60 appearances and 5 goals until he moved to the United Arab Emirates to join Al-Sharjah right after the World Cup in 2006. In 2008 having played for two years with 40 games and 12 goals on his account Masoud joined Osasuna in the Spanish La Liga in spite of the interest from Wolfsburg and Napoli.
The Iranian wasn’t a regular first choice at first until the change of the manager. He paved his way through to the main squad in 2010 and spent a decent campaign of 2010/11 apart from a month spent for playing in the Asian Cup for his national team. Unfortunately Masoud was ruled out for the whole season 2011/12 due to an injury.
In 2013 the Iranian switched for Las Palmas.
Masoud started to play for his country in 2004. He took part in the FIFA World Cup of 2006 in Germany only as a substitute while his side failed to pass through the group stage. In total Masoud was capped 37 times to the senior internationals where he scored 4 goals.
