Massimo Volta plays for Cesena as a defender on loan from Sampdoria.
He was born in Desenzano, Italy and began his career at Carpenedolo. Volta was signed on a co-ownership deal by Sampdoria and Parma and was loaned to Foligno for the 2007/08 season, then he was sent to Vicenza, then to Cesena for 2009/10 and after that he returned to Sampdoria, signing a five-year contract with the club. Volta made his debut for the club qualifying for 2010/11 UEFA Champions League match versus Werder Bremen. He shared his duties of a centre-back with Stefano Lucchini until the summer 2011, when the latter one was released and Sampdoria bought Volta out from Parma for €900,000. In 2012, Italian footballer was sent on loan to the Spanish side Levante UD. Once the loan was completed Massimo returned to his club and moved for another loan spell to Cesena.
