Matt Taylor is a defender, born on 30 January 1982 in Chorley, England.
In 2000, Matt started his professional career in Burscough. The head coach of the club was trying to give the footballer as many opportunities as he could and let him on the pitch 107 times during three seasons.
From 2003 till 2005, Taylor performed for Rossendale United, Matlock Town, Hucknall Town and Halifax Town. In 2005, the defender sealed a deal with Guiseley, where he was promised a regular place. Matt featured in 33 games for the club during the 2005/2006 season and transferred to Team Bath.
In the summer 2007, the footballer completed a move to Exeter City and was given an opportunity to show his skills. Taylor made encouraging display in several starts and sub appearances, which demonstrated the defender was very talented. Matt became the pivot of the team and amassed 17 goals in 147 matches for Exeter City from 2007 till 2011.
In 2011, Charlton Athletic secured the footballer’s services and saw him make 53 appearances during two seasons. In 2013 Taylor joined Bradford City, but was soon loaned out to Colchester United. In the summer 2014 he switched for Cheltenham Town.
