Mattia Destro is an Italian footballer. He was born on 20 March 1991 in Ascoli Piceno, Italy.
Mattia started his career at a hometown club Ascoli in 2004 before joining Internazionale youth side in 2005. He shortly established himself as a top scorer of the Giovanissimi Nazionali team in the 2005/06 season and the second top-scorer in the 2006/07 and 2008/09 campaigns.
In 2010, Destro moved to Genoa where his senior career started. He made his Serie A debut as a starter in a match against Chievo. Mattia marked the debut with a sixth minute goal, though the team lost 1-3 in the end.
In the 2011/12 season, Destro joined Siena where he shortly became an undisputed starter. He pulled off the campaign as a top scorer with 12 goals. In the summer 2012, the Italian striker joined Roma on loan terms and after a season signed a permanent deal with the capital club.
Mattia Destro came up through almost all the youth levels of the national team, featuring for U16, U17, U18, U19 and U21 teams. All in all, he made 50 appearances on the international scene as a youth. He is capped to the Italy national team since 2012.
