Maurizio Domizzi is a defender for Udinese. He was born on 28 June 1980 in Rome, Italy.
Domizzi’s youth career started at Lazio, where he studied and played for the youth teams until 1997.
In 1997 Maurizio signed his first long-term professional contract with Lazio. During his debut 1997/98 season Domizzi didn’t make a single appearance and due to this the club management sent Maurizio on 2-year loan to Livorno Calcio. Domizzi wasn’t exactly popular to the head coach, but still had his share of play totaling 23 appearances and 1 goal, which allowed him to stay in top shape.
In 2001 A.C. Milan signed Domizzi but didn’t give him an opportunity to play. In the summer of 2001 Rossoneri loaned Maurizio to Modena for the 2001/02 season. There the young defender made 17 appearances and scored 2 goals.
In 2002 Domizzi was acquired by Sampdoria. The head coach didn’t trust Maurizio and allowed him on the field quite rarely. From 2004 to 2006 Domizzi played for Modena, Brescia and Ascoli totaling 80 matches and 5 goals for the three teams.
In 2006 the Italian defender signed for Napoli, where he became a regular and scored an impressive for defender 10 goals in 65 matches during 2 seasons.
In 2008 Domizzi transferred to his current Udinese. At present Maurizio continues to play for the club with 55 matches and 2 goals so far.
In 2000 Domizzi was capped for Italy U-21.
