Max Kruse was born on March, 19 1988 in Reinbek, Germany.
The midfielder started his career in a local club TSV Reinbek. In the summer 1998 Kruse joined TSV Kirchwerder, a club from Hamburg. Soon this club merged with several other ones and formed SC Vier- und Marschlande where Max played till 2005. After that he was transferred to Werder Bremen. Firstly he was capped by the junior U-19 team, and then got the opportunity to come on field for the reserve side. For two years in the reserve squad Max had 68 appearances with 7 goals scored. These results were quite satisfying, and on September 29, 2007 the midfielder made an appearance in his first match in Bundesliga. His team defeated DSC Arminia Bielefeld by miles with the score 8 to 1. Max came as a substitute in the 63th the minute. However, it was the only time when Max played for Werder’s main squad as in the season 2009/10 he moved to FC St. Pauli and signed a two-year contract. Despite the outfit tumbling out of the Bundesliga the footballer prolonged the contract till 2014 and showed great results scoring in every 4th match. That was the reason why in July 2012 he signed the contract and joined SC Freiburg.
In May 2013 Kruse switched to Borussia M’gladbach.
As an international Max Kruse started his career in the matches for the German U-19 and U-20 national teams. He also was once called up for U-21 team. That was a game against Denmark on May, 28 2008. Max started the match and scored the winner in the first half.
