The French footballer Maxime Gonalons is a defensive midfielder who plays for Lyon.
When Maxime was 8 he started playing for the French youth team Villefranche; however 2 years later he was noticed by Olympique Lyonnais scouts.
After the footballer had participated in 50 games and scored 5 goals his top priority aim was achieved - he was accepted to the first team. On 1 June 2009 he signed his first contract and entered the senior squad of the club.
The footballer made his debut on 25 August 2009. On the match against the Belgian club Anderlecht he substituted Jérémy Toulalan in the 73rd minute of the Champions League play-off game. His first goal was an equalizer in the game against Liverpool at the end of October 2009 with Lyon claiming the victory at the end.
At the turn of January 2009 Gonalons kicked the ball in the net of Nancy which made Lyon extend the contract with the player until 2014. In Lyon the footballer appeared in the 2011/12 Champions League season in 6 games and scored 1 goal.
Maxime was playing for the France national U-19 football team from 2008 to 2009 in seven matches including the qualifying match for the the 2008 UEFA European U-19 Football Championship. In the U-21 team he played from 2008 to 2009.
Gonalons was first given a call up to France national football team by the team coach who wanted the player to appear in friendly matches against the USA and Belgium.
