Mbulelo Mabizela is a South African football player. He was born on 16 September 1980 in Pietermaritzburg. The “Old John” as he was often nicknamed by fans started playing football in the amateur sides Edendale All Stars and Ashdown Young Buccaneers.
In 2001 Mabizela signed a deal with Orlando Pirates and stayed with the club for two years making 51 appearances and scoring 4 times. In 2003 the midfielder penned a deal with Tottenham Hotspur. During his two-year spell Mabizela made only 7 outings and subsequently the contract was cancelled due to player’s poor discipline. After a short stay in the Norwegian side Vålerenga Mabizela moved to Mamelodi Sundowns.
In 2009 the player penned a deal with Platinum Stars, two years later he joined Bidvest Wits.
