Mehdi Mostefa is an Algerian footballer born on 30 August 1983 in Dijon, France. He currently plays as a defensive midfielder for AC Ajaccio.
His youth career began in 1994 at the local club Fontaine-les-Dijon where Mehdi played for three years until joining the youth team of Dijon in 1997. From 1998 till 2003, Mostefa featured for AS Monaco youth side.
Since 2004, Mehdi began his professional career at the ASOA Valence. The player appeared on the field in all the matches of the first season and scored one goal. In 2005, Mostefa moved to ÉDS Montluçon where he did not have a lot of playing time, but still played an important role for the club.
In the 2006/2007 season, the midfielder played for FC Sète 34. He shortly became a key team player. The footballer performed in 31 games, netting 4 goals.
From 2007 till 2011, Mehdi played for the new club. It was Nîmes Olympique, where he appeared in 140 matches and scored 7 goals. It was the best result in his career.
In 2011, AC Ajaccio reinforced its squad before the start of a new season in the Ligue 1, where the club had not played for some time. In less than a year Mehdi Mostefa appeared in 23 matches, scoring one goal.
Since 2010, the footballer is capped to the Algerian national team.
