Mensur Mujdža was born on March, 28 1984 in Zagreb. He is a Bosnian football player but due to his Croatian origin at first represented the Croatian U-21 team on the international arena. Football is considered to be one of the family traits as Mensur’s brother Jasmin is also a football player.
Mensur started his career in a local club of NK Zagreb. After training with the youth system he was promoted to the senior squad and stayed with it from 2004 to 2009. In total he was fielded in 136 matches and scored 5 goals. Usually he was put on the position of a right wingback. In the seasons 2004/05 and 2006/07 together with the team he won the 3rd place in the Croatian First Football League which was the best result in his career. Besides, he participated in the UEFA Intertoto Cup in seasons 2003/04 and 2007/08. In 2007 Mensur scored the first goal in his professional career for Zagreb in the game with NK Inter Zaprešić.
At that moment the player was invited to the Bundesliga team SC Freiburg for a transfer fee of €500 000. The contract was signed on June, 17 2009, and the player started his way to the place in the main squad. He fielded for the 1st time in the third round of the German championship to play against Bayer Leverkusen. After this appearance Mujdža was rarely fielded yet soon his patience was rewarded and he became a first-string player.
