Michael Duff is a defender of Burnley. He was born on 11 January 1978 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Michael’s youth career took off in the academy of Darlington, where the footballer started to learn football in all its minutest details and perform for the junior squad of the club. In 1995, Duff moved to the youth system of Carterton Town and managed to finish his preparations for a professional level by 1996.
In 1996, the defender penned his first senior contract with Cheltenham Town and amassed 15 goals in 300 fixtures for the team during eight years (excluding his half-a-year spell at Cirencester Town during the 1996/1997 season).
In 2004, Michael sealed a deal with Burnley, but failed to clinch a regular place at once. However, the footballer’s performance earned him a spot in the starting line-up really soon, which helped Duff to fire six goals in 252 matches for ‘The Clarets’ as of January 2013.
From 2002, the defender has been capped 24 times for the Northern Ireland national squad.
